What we store in the app – and why
Account (when you sign in): the e-mail address or phone number you sign in with. With Vipps: your name, phone number, e-mail address and Vipps ID. With Apple: the e-mail address Apple gives us (it may be a hidden relay address) and your name the first time.
Profile (what you fill in yourself; everything except your name is optional): name, profile photo, date, time and test centre of your driving test, your supervisor’s name, driving school, instructor and school code.
Progress: stars and attempts on the levels, your answers to the danger-spot questions, the safety check and the driving-behaviour lessons, mock test results (pass/fail, duration, distance), practice drives (date, duration, distance and the names of the first and last street – not the GPS track), the days you practised and the checklist before the test.
Purpose: to save your progress, show it in your profile and have it on all your devices. Later your driving school may see it – only if you turn that on yourself.
Location
Your GPS position is used on your phone only: the map, the speed limit and alerts about danger spots ahead of you. It is never sent to us or anyone else. From a practice drive only the distance, the time and the names of the first and last street are kept.
Reminders
The reminders before your test are local notifications scheduled on your phone. No push service, no server.
Purchases
Purchases go through Apple; we never get your payment details. The app reads your purchases from the App Store on the phone (which pass, when it was bought, refunds) to know how long everything is open. When the free days started is kept in the phone’s Keychain. Pressing “I failed the driving test” is kept in your iCloud Keychain, so it counts on all your devices. None of this is sent to us.
Legal basis
Contract (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)): the data is needed to give you the service you asked for – an account with your progress.
Who processes data for us
- Supabase – database, sign-in and profile-photo storage (servers in the EU).
- SMS provider – only to send the one-time code when you sign in with a phone number.
- E-mail provider – only to send the one-time code when you sign in with e-mail.
- Vipps MobilePay or Apple – only if you choose to sign in with them.
We never sell data. No ads, no analytics, no tracking.
How long
Until you delete your account. Without an account everything stays on your phone only. “Delete account” deletes the profile, the progress and the profile photo from the server at once, and everything is deleted from the phone. Copies in the provider’s backups disappear when those backups expire.
Your rights
- Access and data portability: Profile → Account → “Download my data” (JSON file).
- Rectification: edit your profile.
- Erasure: Profile → Account → “Delete account”.
- Objection / restriction: write to the contact address.
- Complaint: Datatilsynet, the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, datatilsynet.no.
Age
The app is made for learners preparing for the class B driving test (from 16). Vipps sign-in requires you to be at least 15.
The waitlist and this website
If you enter your e-mail address in the form on rislokka.app, we store it to tell you when the app is in the App Store. We don’t use it for anything else. To be removed from the list, write to hei@rislokka.app. Legal basis: consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)) – you can withdraw it at any time.
The website and the form are hosted by Netlify (Netlify, Inc., USA), which stores submitted forms and, like any web host, processes IP addresses in server logs. The website has no cookies, no analytics and no tracking. The videos on the front page are licensed stock footage (Mixkit) and are served from rislokka.app itself.
